She crochets because she cares

Since joining the COPC team three years ago, Senior Safeguarding Officer Lynn Counsell has hand-made literally hundreds of stress gonks and fidget sticks.

She crochets them in her own time and happily hands them out free of charge to anyone who needs them.

“It takes me about 20 minutes per gonk and it’s a great way for me to unwind at the end of a busy day. I call it my zen crocheting,” she said.

Lynn, who picked up a staff award recently for her commitment to equity, equality, diversity, inclusivity and respect, always keeps a handy supply in her office and can usually be seen giving them away at College events.
