Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan joins leaders in hospitality and events at The Club House, Southsea

Our own Jo Chaffin was among 40 women in leadership who gathered at the Club House in Southsea to talk about influencing and driving impactful change in hospitality and events.

The networking event was organised by Samantha McGrath from Heard About Sam Ltd in conjunction with Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan.

Jo, COPC’s Curriculum Manager for Business, AAT Accounting and Travel, said the main topics for discussion were career aspirations and opportunities, pricing and bills, and driving footfall.

She was there to represent the College and talk about the work we do to raise aspirations in our students and adult learners, prepare them for work experience, support them in securing meaningful placements and best prepare them for their next steps.

“The event created a platform for collaboration, sharing of best practices, and sets the groundwork for taking actionable steps towards raising aspirations and providing opportunities across the city,” she said.

“It was also a fantastic opportunity to engage with inspiring women from leadership roles across the city and discuss further collaborations and ways to inform our diverse curriculums and get involved in shaping our students’ college experiences.”

Thanking everyone who took part, Sam McGrath said: “Such an impressive group of inspiring women gathered in one room, taking further positive action for our city.”
