Rising star recognition for King’s Trust champs
PUBLISHED 20-12-2024
We’re keeping everything crossed for our King’s Trust superstars Luca and Cameron.
The pair joined around 80 other guests at the John Hansard Gallery in Southampton after being nominated as Rising Stars.
They are now eagerly awaiting to hear whether they’ve got through to the 2025 National Awards, with the chance to meet King Charles and a whole host of celebrities.
Both of them took part in one of the Trust’s 12-week programmes at City of Portsmouth College last April.
Luca, 25, went on to become a full-time IT support engineer, while Cameron, 24, became a night porter and then duty manager for a hotel.
“I’m really grateful for being given the opportunity to be part of this programme,” said Luca. “It’s helped to build my confidence and gain new skills for the work environment.”
Added Cameron: “Before this I was lost on what I wanted to do. I’ve got so much more confidence now. Just two words ‘do it’.”
Luca and Cameron are seen with COPC King’s Trust Team Leader Amy Walledge.
