COPC students and their lecturers seen at the MEI Challenge regional finals at the University of Sussex, Brighton.

Eight of our students have competed in the regional finals of the nationwide MEI Maths Challenge in Brighton.

The group competed against 80 other students in the contest at the University of Sussex in Brighton.

“They came third in the competition which is fantastic. They had a brilliant day!” said Assistant Principal Mia DeCaen.

All GCSE maths classes took part in the first round of the challenge, which was completed by more than 5,000 students across the region.

The winning pair from each class at COPC took part in the College finals in January. It was the top eight from the College finals who got through to the regional finals.

MEI stands for Mathematics Education Innovation. It’s a national charity committed to improving maths education for all.
