Out and about with Animal Care
PUBLISHED 02-04-2025

Our Animal Care students have enjoyed a couple of educational and fun days out recently.
The New Forest Wildlife Park was the destination for Level 2 students, who loved learning from the zookeeper, observing the animals up close, and finishing the day with some fun in the park!
"From learning about conservation to spotting fascinating animal behaviours, our trip to New Forest Wildlife Park was a perfect mix of education and fun!" said Lecturer Melissa Hart.
Level 1 students went to Fort Widley for a specially tailored work placement.
Melissa said they did a fantastic job and earned lots of praise.
Here’s what some of the students had to say:
“I particularly enjoyed the time spent with the horses, it was a fantastic opportunity to learn and connect with such amazing animals.” Chelsea Cooper
“It was a pleasure to feed the horses, walk them and groom them; I had such an amazing time.” Lilly Amber Gurr
“Thank you for giving me this opportunity to learn and overcome my fear of horses.” Dan Pereira
