This course would suit those interested in a career in digital media production, who are keen writers and have a strong interest in social media.
Units include:
- media products and audiences
- pre-production and planning
- creating a media product
- pitch media product ideas
- journalism and the news industry.
You will learn how media institutions operate to create media products that will appeal to target audiences. You will also study journalism processes and get creative in producing your own print-based or audio-visual product.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English language.
You will have a 9.55am start, one lesson in the morning, one in the afternoon and a guaranteed 4pm finish. You will also have at least one morning and one afternoon per week free for private study.
Assessments will comprise 60% personal investigation and 40% externally set practical exam. Your coursework is internally assessed and externally moderated.
You might be interested in careers or degrees in media production, journalism, advertising or social media marketing.
