Diploma equivalent to two A Levels.
For those interested in a career in digital and social media production, this course includes game design, 3D modelling, pre-production techniques and games/interactive media.
You will begin by learning how media institutions operate to create products for target audiences. You will also get creative in producing your own print-based or audio-visual product. You could go on trips and visits to major gaming events and expos, to University of Portsmouth and Southampton Solent University, and enjoy professionally led workshop sessions.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including maths and English language.
We expect all learners to achieve a 90% attendance each year of your course.
You lessons start at 9.55am, with one lesson in the morning, one in the afternoon and a guaranteed 4.00pm finish. You will also have at least one morning and one afternoon per week free for private study.
Assessments will comprise 60% personal investigation and 40% externally set practical exam. Your coursework is internally assessed and externally moderated.
You will have a vast array of job opportunities within the field of interactive media entertainment, including production, design or programming roles.

Teams of our IT students wowed Portsmouth business leaders with ideas for an app they’ve built from scratch. The project was part of their work experience for LocalLinked, one of the organisations on the Portsmouth Business Support Scheme, run by Shaping Portsmouth.
